Chris Cooper as Clonkin2005 movie by Paul Greengrass with Matt Damon, Brian Cox and Franka Potente based on a Robert Ludlum novel of the same name.

Second in the Bourne trilogy, the Bourne Supremacy does not have any Swiss bank scene. However, at the beginning of the movie CIA deputy director Pamela Landon investigates project Treadstone and discovers from the inspection of his laptop computer that Robert Conklin, shot at the end of the Bourne Identity, had an account in Zurich. She suspects Conklin was in business with Bourne to steal CIA funds and that his share is sitting on an account in Zurich. We briefly see the bank statement in the CIA conference room.

Top part of ClonkinOn Conklin's statement, we see the bank's name and address: 'BSB 1881 - Private Bank Switzerland' and underneath 'BSB 1881 Private Bank Schweiz, Am See 30, CH-1001 Zürich, Schweiz, Tel +41 44 11 33 89 0 - Fax +41 44 11 33 89 1'. The bank's name sounds like a German bank but is otherwise credible. The letterhead, address and phones all look real. The movie director clearly has done his due diligence. The statement is only shown briefly and is not legible on the DVD, but seen from a distance it looks very credible. The bottom line uses American standards for numbers with a + 760.000,00 whereas Swiss banks prefer to use commas as thousands separator and dots for decimals (760,000.00 or rather 760,000.-). The + sign is usually omitted as Swiss banks do not extend credit to their foreign clients. The first reader to send us a legible copy of the bank statement will receive a box of Swiss chocolate.

Abbott, the head of Project Treadstone, is played by Brian Cox, famous for his role as Hanibal Lecter in the first Lecter movie as well as Hermann Goering in 'Nuremberg'.

BourneIn the Bourne Identity (2002) we see the inside of Bourne's Swiss safe deposit box and his pile of passports. You may remember that the Russian passport in this movie had was not credible, the cyrillic did not match the name 'Foma Kiniaev' in latin script. Well, director Paul Greengrass is known for his love for real location and documentary feel in his movie. He corrected this in the Bourne Supremacy and now both the cyrillic and the latin script say the same. The date of birth 21.08.1969 is the same on both passports.
